Job Description Summary:
Securing new outlets and protecting existing business is a strategic priority for the North America Operating Unit. The NAOU Business Development team plays an important role in this work by developing new business strategies, engaging with, and providing consultancy to account teams during the prospecting and renewal phase, and empowering teams with the tools and resources needed to be successful in maintaining and acquiring new business.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for leading the development and guiding execution of BD strategy for Foodservice & On-Premise customers, this role serves as a consultant and coach to account teams on strategy, planning and execution of prioritized acquisitions and renewals in the Chief Customer Office and all Zones.
The role plays a key role in identifying new sources of revenue and profit to establish Coca-Cola as a Customer's most valued business partner. This is done through strategic storytelling that conveys the Coca-Cola competitive advantage and by thoroughly understanding the competitive landscape.
Director of Business Development has one direct report: Sr Manager of Business Development.

POSITION ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
During renewals or new business acquisitions, the BD Director will:
 Lead, coach and counsel account teams and partner with brand, channel, creative agencies, and other subject matter experts to align potential customers with a customized bundle of goods and services
 Leverage Collaborating for Value and Collaborative Business Planning as a roadmap to understand customerÂs needs and gaps to build a customized strategy for customer acquisitions and key renewals
 Work with account team and Customer Agreement Team to ensure financial plans are delivering maximum impact to operating income and volume
 Defend against competitive threats using innovative storytelling and value creation, including marketing assets, promotional partners, brand, and pillar programs, cutting edge technology  all to differentiate Coca-Cola from competitors
 Influence complex negotiating situations (including franchisees) as well as internal stakeholders
 Ensure all communication and concepts are grounded in the customerÂs needs, and consumer and channel insights
 Works alone and in partnership with agencies to create meeting and pitch themes, custom graphics, presentations, and compelling storylines that convey our competitive advantages
 Actively seeks and communicates competitive intelligence in partnership with the Strategy team
 Leverage internal tools and resources to support customer acquisition strategy (channel, asset, brand)
 Lead strategy and engagement approach for Private Equity Groups, Beverage Consultants, Multi-Unit Operators

5+ years experience in a consumer-packaged goods company, preferably in both customer management and marketing roles
